Early Life and Background

 

In Matogun, Ogun State, Nigeria, Fido was born Awosika Olayemi Josiah. He was brought up by his mother, and he had a deep appreciation for music at an early age. His skill started to blossom when he joined the choir at his church. He discovered his love for music via singing in church, which also gave him the courage to pursue other interests.
Fido always dreamed big, even though he was raised in a little town. He was inspired by the upbeat music of Afrobeats artists like Kizz Daniel and Olamide, and he loved listening to them. The strong messages of Fela Anikulapo Kuti's songs also had an impact on him, which deepened his awareness of the use of music to convey significant concepts.
Fido made a significant move in 2019.


Fido’s Career

Fido was born Awosika Olayemi Josiah in Matogun, Ogun State, Nigeria. He was raised by his mother, and from a young age, he showed a strong love for music. He first started singing in his church’s choir, where his talent began to grow. Singing in church helped him realize his passion for music and gave him the confidence to explore more. Though he grew up in a small town, Fido always had big dreams. He loved listening to Afrobeats stars like Olamide and Kizz Daniel, who iFido’s Career Fido’s music journey took off after his studies at PEFTI Film Institute. He joined Inner Circle, a group that helps new artists grow. During this time, Fido worked hard to develop his own sound, blending different types.
